Standing together on Opening Day at Shibe Park in 1934, the inaugural members of baseball's 500 Home Run club, George Herman Ruth and James Emory Foxx take a moment to pose for photographers prior to the game. The two fearsome American League sluggers became the first men to join the 500 home run club when Ruth reached the milestone on August 11, 1929 before Foxx matched him over a decade later on September 24, 1940. Original Type I photo remains in excellent overall condition with bright white borders and full paper caption included from the Associated Press. Associated Press credit stamping has been applied to verso which otherwise remains clean. A fresh to the hobby example, authenticated and encapsulated as a Type I photo by PSA/DNA.
