Collection includes: 1) 1975 Shakey's Pizza West Coast Greats: Complete 18-card set featuring all-time greats hailing from the west coast, the first card of which was given to the first 1,000 attendees of the WSSCA's annual convention. Loaded with Hall of Famers including DiMaggio, Paul Waner, Lefty Gomez, Earl Averill, Ernie Lombardi, Joe Cronin, Casey Stengel, Sam Crawford, Ted Williams, Duke Snider, Bobby Doerr, Army Vaughan, and Tony Lazzeri. EX-MT to NM. 2) 1976 Shakey's Pizza Hall of Fame: Consisting of four skip-numbered sets that were issued in series: Series 1 was "Baseball's Hall of Fame," Series 2 was "Baseball's Greatest Players," Series 3 was "Baseball's Immortals," and Series 4 was "Baseball's All-Time Greats. The player selection was outstanding, and includes a card of Josh Gibson that has taken off in recent years, attracting significant collector interest as playing days cards of Gibson are nonexistent (NM+ here). The remaining cards are a "who's who" of baseball history, featuring the greatest names from the 19th Century through the 1960s. The sets are considered complete at 158, which is what we have here, though there are two other "coupon" cards featuring Earl Averill that were given away at the conventions and offered a $1 off coupon at Shakey's. EX-MT to NM-MT, virtually untouched since their year of issue. 3) 1977 Shakey's All-Time Superstars: Complete 28-card set includes cards of Earl Averill, Johnny Mize (with a $1 coupon), and Robert Lee Johnson, plus a card with information about the WSSCA, each of which were distributed at the Association's annual convention. EX-MT to NM. Three complete sets total, 204 cards total.
