Enormous group of original handwritten letters and cards penned by Hall of Fame pitcher Rube Marquard. Twenty-three individual Rube Marquard signatures are spread across the group, with the vast majority applied in bold felt-tip pen. Based upon the postmarked envelopes and letters dated by Marquard, all were mailed between 1967-72 to a woman named Joanne Ciola, the earliest of which is in response to an autograph request where Marquard references author Larry Ritters's 1966 classic, The Glory of Their Times. We sent that 1967 letter to PSA/DNA for authentication (full LOA included) and are confident the remainder are consistent with Marquard's hand. Collection also includes a name tag from a banquet signed by fellow Hall of Famers Stan Musial, Edd Roush, and Pie Traynor on reverse. All three signatures appear to be authentic. An immersive trove of correspondence from late in the great southpaw's life.
