Important cabinet photo featuring 11 members of the 1882 Chicago White Stockings, in uniform, posed against a studio backdrop.  Representing one third of a complete set (the other two teams featured are the Detroit Wolverines and Providence Grays), all three cabinets are exceedingly rare, with only a few examples of the White Stockings cabinet known to exist.  The studio name and address is printed on the mount, on both the front and back. In the photo, Cap Anson is pictured dead center, with King Kelly in the center row, right.  Though Billy Sunday's name is written in ink within the bottom border, he is not pictured in the photo. The remaining players include: FRONT ROW (L-R): Hugh Nicol, Larry Corcoran. MIDDLE ROW (L-R): Abner Dalrymple, Silver Flint, Anson, Fred Goldsmith, Kelly. BACK ROW (L-R): Joe Quest, Piano Legs Gore, Ed Williamson, Tom Burns.

Graded AUTHENTIC by PSA, the cabinet has seen significant wear at the mount, with writing on both the front and reverse, years of pencil and ink notations used to identify the cabinet's subjects and owners. The quality of the photograph itself is superior to that of the mount, as the mount has done its job protecting the photo for more than 140 years.  An exceedingly rare and extremely significant cabinet photo, picturing two Hall of Famers and a number of other 19th Century greats.
