The T211 Red Sun Cigarettes set was issued in 1910, one of a loose subset of tobacco cards centered around
producers in Louisiana. Featuring 75
players from the Southern Association, the cards are extremely condition-sensitive
due to chipping along their green borders. The fronts were coated with a gloss that
has become quite brittle with the passage of time, making damage to the finish ubiquitous. The vibrant Red Sun Cigarettes back
advertisement is what makes these cards so desirable among collectors.
SGC has only ever graded 9 total examples of this T211, with only three receiving a higher grade than the Good+ 2.5 offered here of Mobile's Dan Kerwin.
