Issued by Fleer in 1959, the 80-card Ted Williams set was the first mainstream set to focus solely on a single player. The card fronts illustrate various photographic highlights of Ted's career, with the backs written as a continuing biography. The issue remains popular today due to its affordability as well as its subject matter. While the set features Williams, individual cards focus on other figures throughout the Splendid Splinter's career; as a result, cards exist featuring the likes of Babe Ruth, Jimmy Foxx, Eddie Collins, Joe Cronin, and more.

Offered here is an attractive 2-card uncut panel featuring card #1 in the set ("The Early Years") paired with card #18 in the set ("1941 - All Star Hero"). Centering is just slightly south on the canvas, with some faint toning and light corner wear.

While 1959 Fleer cards are fairly common sheets and panels are much less so making this a scarce and interesting item. SGC has only ever graded 9 uncut panels from this set of any card combination. Of those 9 different panels to have been graded, NONE have received a grade higher than Authentic.
