Hal Chase known as "Prince Hal " was one of the most popular players of his time. Widely regarded by his peers as the best first baseman ever his defensive exploits with the Yankees were legendary. Sadly his legacy is one that it marked by corruption and cheating as Chase had a reputation for gambling - and even helping to throw - baseball games.
