The American Caramel E90-1 issue is sometimes referred to as the T206
of
caramel issues, and has been dubbed "The Kraken" in some quarters due
to the challenges of collecting the 120 subjects found within. The set
was issued with a
stick of caramel that, as one might imagine, led to condition issues
which plague the set.
This colorful example shows some light staining visible in the corners and along the left edge. Corners
exhibit rounding consistent with its grade, with a small bit of paper loss near the top right corner. Centering is to the northeast on the canvas. The back also exhibits some paper loss along the right edge, with some staining near the bottom left corner, but this card is simply a beautiful specimen from this popular set.
SGC has only ever graded 36 total examples of this 1909-11 E90-1 American Caramel card higher than the Good 2 of Hall of Famer Frank Chance being offered here.
