Frank Patrick Zinn went 0-7 with a walk in the only 2 games he ever played in the majors. He was a 22-year-old catcher for the 1888 Philadelphia Athletics of the American Association. By the end of 1889, he was out of baseball altogether. Miraculously, Zinn is featured on three poses in
the N172 set, including this one, which depicts the Athletics Catcher bent over and reaching down to retrieve a ball.
Corners are soft, but not bad for the grade. The right edge shows some chipping, with some paper loss near that border, as well. There is some staining and soiling present on the card's surface, but nearly perfect centering still leaves this card with plenty of eye appeal. Great clarity and contrast makes it easy to see every detail of Zinn's uniform, and even specific wrinkles in his hands.
