One of the more attractive and scarce strip card issues of the 1920s, the W572 cards all featured
the same player images as the E120s. The W572s were issued in ten-card strips with
blank backs. Due to their method of issue, each example is hand-cut,
and mid-grade specimens are seldom found.
This example features Hall of Fame pitcher Walter Johnson. Centered slightly south and east on the canvas, the left edge near the top corner is slightly miscut. A large spot of soiling is present near the top right corner, as well. Regardless of the grade, the scarcity of this issue far outweighs any perceived cosmetic flaws on this example.
PSA has only ever graded 15 total examples of this hand cut 1923 W572, with only six receiving a higher grade than the Authentic offered here of Hall of Famer Walter Johnson.
