The first series of cards in the T206 set were issued beginning in 1909 in cigarette and loose tobacco packs through 16 different brands owned by the American Tobacco Company. It is a landmark set in the history of baseball card collecting due to its size and rarity, with cards of over 500 major and minor-league players issued in the set through 1911. It is known informally as the "White Border" set due to the distinctive white borders surrounding the quality color lithographs on each card.

A brilliantly bright yellow sky and green grass make up the background behind St. Paul's Peter O'Brien in this example featuring a unique pose. O'Brien's mostly gray uniform is broken up by the bold red long sleeved undershirt, giving the image just enough color to make it interesting. Centering is slightly east on the canvas, with rounded corners and sharp edges. The bottom right corner has a crease, which keeps this card from grading even higher than it already has. The Polar Bear back is dark and bold, although far east on the canvas. The reverse exhibits some tobacco staining, which further explains the card's technical grade.

SGC has only ever graded 31 total examples of this T206 with a Polar Bear back, with only eight receiving a higher grade than the VG 3 offered here of St. Paul's Peter O'Brien.
