Remarkably well-preserved grouping of "Toycards," originally containing 14 novelty greeting cards and envelopes geared toward children.  11 remain, along with their envelopes, each designed for a different occasion (i.e. birthday, get well, etc).  Many are novelty cards, with die cuts, pop-ups, toys attached.  The showpiece here is a card reading "Hello! Would you like some bubble gum?" Onto the front of the card is affixed an unopened pack of Topps Varsity felts. 

The 1949-50 Topps "Varisty" felt-backed issue is particularly scarce, with attractive commons routinely fetching more than $100, and rookie cards of the likes of Lou Creekmur, Joe Paterno, Oak Walker and Darrell Royal reaching much higher.  Unopened packs of gum are seldom found, but the felt-backed cards themselves can be carefully slid out of the pack (which could be the case here), creating the possibility of searched packs.  

The box itself is lovely, but everything - paper cards, envelopes and box - exhibits some toning that have caused the art to darken slightly over time.  Some additional wear is evident on the box corners and edges, but the entire package remains sturdy and clean.
