Attractive 11" x 3 1/2" folding panoramic postcard picturing game play at the field of C.O. & I in Lyon Mountain, New York.  "C. O. & I." stands for Chateaguay Ore and Iron Company, a company that did the mining for iron ore that was used in the construction of the George Washington Bridge, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Brooklyn Bridge.  Though the postcard depicts game play and implies a happy company team, the miners were subject to considerable hardships, more than 100 employees dying in the mines over the years. The mine eventually closed in 1967 and the town went with it, dropping to a population of just 300.  FAIR condition due to a piece of clear tape affixed to the reverse to reinforce a tear at the fold, an excellent piece of American history.
