Fresh to the hobby is this classic magazine photo inked by one of the first rock stars of sports, Pistol Pete Maravich. Pete is pictured in his LSU uniform, the school where he broke the men's NCAA scoring records. This has been in a personal collection since signed by Maravich in the early 1970's. The autograph is boldly signed "Pistol Pete" in period ballpoint, authenticated and nicely encapsulated by PSA/DNA.
Sadly Maravich passed away at the young age of 40 in 1988, so autographs of the basketball showman are highly treasured. His stature in the game is talked about to this day, most recently when Caitlin Clark (one of her nicknames is "Ponytail Pete" in honor of Maravich) of the women's game was breaking NCAA scoring records.
