Dockman & Sons was one of several brands captured in the E92 universe and are difficult
to track down today. Issued in 1909, the illustrations from the set are well-rendered and the cards are quite colorful.
This
example, featuring Washington's Germany Schaefer, is centered just ever so slightly north
on
the
canvas. Worn corners, light surface wear, and a crease toward the right corner of the image keep this card from grading even higher than it already has, though the interesting pose with the horizontal layout and the gorgeous colors of the sunset and background still gives this one tremendous eye
appeal.
SGC has only ever graded 26 total
examples of this 1909 E92, with only seven receiving a higher grade than
the VG 3 offered here of Germany Schaefer.
