Stunning original Type 1 photograph from a high vantage point at Fenway Park during the 1912 World Series. From this perspective it's clear to see just how massive the crowd was for this contest, which is possibly Game 2, 3, 5, 7, or 8. Game 2 of this series, the first World Series game ever played at Fenway, was declared a tie after 11 innings on account of darkness. In a legendary Fall Classic the Boston Red Sox edged the New York Giants four games to three following one of World Series history's most storied moments. With Christy Mathewson on the mound and a one run lead in the bottom of the 10th at Fenway in Game 8, Fred Snodgrass committed the "Snodgrass Muff" when he dropped a lazy fly ball that ultimately allowed the Red Sox to tie and win both the game and the World Series a few batters later. Phenomenal, finely detailed photo that appears to be a contact print; the highest quality type of original photographic print possible. Approx. 4.5" x 5.5" photo remains in fantastic, highly presentable overall condition with a few pencil notations on reverse. Includes full LOA from PSA/DNA.
