Exceedingly scarce 8.75" x 11" supplement to The Sporting Boiler publication out of Philadelphia, PA. Issued weekly in 1904, the full run consisted of sixteen different half-tone team photos, representing each squad from both the American and National Leagues. Dated July 14, 1904 this fresh-to-the-hobby Chicago White Sox example has remained in a private collection for many decades until the time of this sale. All players depicted are identified below the central image, including Hall of Fame shortstop George Davis, and star southpaw Doc White who captured an ERA title two years later for the World Champion 1906 White Sox, affectionately known as "The Hitless Wonders." Off-white and blank-backed supplement remains clean and in excellent condition overall. An attractive specimen from this rare issue.
