According to PSACard.com, the 1951 Topps Blue Backs baseball set is the scarcer of the two 1951
Topps issuances, with the other being the Red Backs. This set, like the Red
Backs, consists of 52 cards sold by the pair in one-cent packages. The cards measure 2” by 2-5/8” and have rounded corners. Each card displays a
black and white headshot of a player on a red, white, yellow, blue, and
green background. The Blue Backs set was printed on heavy stock
cardboard. It was created as a playing card game with numerous game
situations and plays printed on the front to simulate playing a game of
baseball. The backs feature an intricate baseball diamond themed design
with various baseball accouterments of the game displayed boldly in a
blue background.
