Bright, sharp card of Hall of Famer Hank Aaron, from the beautiful and underrated 1964 Topps set. The design of Topps' 1964 effort is one of our favorites; colorful photography is cropped so that parts of the image encroach into the text areas on some of the cards; the colorful team names coordinated to match the text box at the bottom of the card. Perhaps a test run for the gorgeous set the company would release just three years later, it could be argued that the 1964 set is more attractive but lacks the key rookies and strong player selection of the 1967 set. Centering and some light print smudging in the text field are the card's primary flaw, some light corner touches cementing this beauty to the NM level.
