ONL (MacPhail) baseball signed by 11 members of the Cincinnati Reds' "Big Red Machine" teams in rich green ballpoint ink. Likely vintage signatures obtained in 1977 this ball has been tucked away with our consignor for quite some time; she and her husband had many occasions to meet various players and obtain autographs and over the years built quite a collection. The ball does exhibit some toning and dirt and could possibly have been a ball obtained at a game perhaps during Spring Training or batting practice. Regardless the baseball has the signatures of the starting lineup of the 1977 Cincinnati Reds plus their manager and "ace" pitcher: Manager Sparky Anderson (HOF SS) Joe Morgan (HOF) coach Ted Kluszewski Dan Driessen Cesar Geronimo George Foster Johnny Bench (HOF) Pete Rose Dave Concepcion Ken Griffey and Tom Seaver (HOF). The 1977 Reds finished second in the AL West to the Dodgers who went on to lose to the Yankees in the World Series. Despite this this baseball contains the signatures of many of the greatest players on one of the greatest teams the decade had to offer. Quite a baseball.
