Lot Description  

Collection of nine pinback buttons each issued to mark the "tribute day" of a player or sports figure. Collection includes: 1) 1931 Fred Hoey Day pinback: 1 1/2" oval pinback issued to honor the Boston Braves broadcaster. Poor condition with considerable cracking to the emulsion. 2) 1963 Warren Spahn Pinback: 2" diameter pinback EX condition. 3) 1963 Early Wynn 300th Win button: 2" button with folding tab unused EX/MT condition. 4) 1964 Yogi Berra Day Pinback: 1 1/2" pinback EX/MT condition. 5) 1968 Hank Aaron Night Pinback: 2 1/4" diameter orange-ringed pinback with black and white photo. EX/MT condition. 6) Mickey Mantle "A Day To Remember" Pinback: 4" pinback EX condition with some light waviness to the paper underneath the plastic surface. 7) 1970 Al Kaline Day Pinback: 2 1/4" pinback VG/EX condition due to light fading otherwise EX. 8) 1971 Ron Santo Day pinback: 2 1/4" pinback EX/MT condition. 9) 1976 Hank Aaron "Thanks Milwaukee" Pinback: 2 1/4" pinback EX condition. Nine pins total.
