An excellent infielder who took advantage of a 200-foot right field fence at Chicago's Lake Front Park to club 27 home runs in 1884, Ned Williamson was considered one of the greats of his day. That record stood until it was broken by Babe Ruth in 1919. This example, graded VG 3 by PSA, boasts outstanding image contrast, picturing Williamson posed underneath a baseball, set against the familiar studio backdrop painted to look like the ballpark. Soiling on the reverse is the primary condition flaw with this card; corner and edge wear is visible but minor.
