The 1929 World Series pitted the A.L. Champion Philadelphia Athletics against the N.L. Champion Chicago Cubs. In what turned out to be a five-game series, the A’s, led by owner/manager Connie Mack, prevailed after outscoring the Cubs 26-17 behind the potent bats of Jimmy Dykes (.421), Mickey Cochrane (.400), Bing Miller (.368) and Jimmie Foxx (.350). Offered here is a ticket stub to Game 4 of the ‘29 World Series, which was played at Philadelphia’s Shibe Park. In that contest, the A’s won, 10-8, and scored all 10 of their runs in the seventh inning. The presented original ticket stub, for Seat 6/Row 28/Section C in the East Stand Lower Pavilion, displays discoloration to all four corners possibly due to tape removal. Handwriting in pencil at the bottom edge correctly states "Oct 12" and some and toning is present along the top edge. An irregular tear is present along the right edge of reverse where the ticket was perforated. Though the technical grade of this stub would be considered POOR it remains a significant memento related to the dynastic Athletics of the late 1920's to early 1930's.
