The 1955 baseball season is one of the most memorable, with its memorabilia among the most widely-collected of every postwar baseball season.  A monster 51 home run, 128 RBI season from Willie Mays, 20-win season from both Don Newcombe and Robin Roberts, and a tight American League race between the Yankees and Indians that went right down to the wire were all overshadowed by one of the most dramatic World Series in history, the only Championship won by the Brooklyn Dodgers.  For all the reasons above as well as for containing rookie cards of Hall of Famers Roberto Clemente, Sandy Koufax and Harmon Killebrew, the 1955 Topps issue remains one of the hobby's most popular.

Presented is a strong, collector grade set with a twist: unlike many sets, in this case the collector focused on the key cards, with the Hall of Famers generally more clean and in better shape than the commons.  A breakdown of the entire set would be approximately 2% EX with a few better, 17% VG/EX, 40% VG, 33% GOOD, 6% FAIR and a few lesser.  The stars, however, are generally stronger, with the majority graded.  Even the Hall of Famers with lower technical grades boast stronger eye appeal than the ungraded commons.

A breakdown of the keys is as follows: #2 Williams (SGC VG/EX+ 4.5), #4 Kaline (SGC EX 5), #19 Herman (F), #24 Newhouser (G), #28 Banks (PSA VG-EX 4), #31 Spahn (SGC EX+ 5.5), #47 Aaron (PSA VG-EX+ 4.5), #50 Robinson (SGC GOOD 2), #100 Irvin (G), #123 Koufax (PSA VG-EX 4 MK), #124 Killeberw (CSG EX-MT 6), #155 Mathews (PSA VG-EX 4), #164 Clemente (SGC VG/EX 4), #187 Hodges (VG), #189 Rizzuto (VG), #194 Mays (SGC VG+ 3.5), #198 Berra (PSA EX 5), #210 Snider G.  Additionally, card #207 of Billy Consolo has graded EX 5 by PSA.

A collector-grade set with clean, presentable Hall of Famers.  206 cards total.
