While best known as the Hall of Fame manager who helmed the first Yankees dynasty, capturing World Series titles in 1923, 1927, and 1928, Miller Huggins also served as player-manager for the 1913-1916 St. Louis Cardinals. The presented 8" x 10" original news service photo hails from the lens of photographer Charles Martin Conlon and depicts Huggins sometime during his 1910's tenure with St. Louis. While Huggins' cap and facial features remain more defined, the lower portion of this print appears to be somewhat underdeveloped, lacking finer details aside from buttons on the managers shirt. Moderate rounding of three corners and chipping to the top-right corner appear to be the only obvious blemishes. Verso exhibits gentle toning along right edge with Conlon's large handwritten notations clearly visible in blue grease pencil. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
