1914 glass magic lantern slide featuring a great shot of Hall of Famer, Napoleon Lajoie in a batting pose. "Larry," as inscribed towards the top, appears to be using a glove as an improvised home plate.  Black paper border surrounding the 3.25" x 4" translucent slide remains fully intact with some soiling resting on the glass surface. A paper label remains affixed to lower-right corner, presumably for numbering purposes, though no markings are present. This slide originates from the estate of former Cleveland Plain Dealer staff photographer Frank W. Smith, who traveled with the Cleveland Naps to their spring facilities for many years during the 1910's. One of close to sixty glass magic lantern slides offered in our spring auction from the original photographer's collection. All slides from this collection have been professionally imaged and winning bidders will receive both the slides and a one-of-a-kind 8" x 10" archival quality print with their shipment.
