The R310 Butterfinger premiums were oversized photographs printed on unbelievably thin, almost newsprint stock and distributed with Butterfinger candy bars. Due to the extreme lightweight paper, these are very susceptible to damage of all kinds - it is common to find R310s torn, wrinkled or with pieces missing and many times due to their large size (7 3/4 x 9 3/4") they are found with folds, pinholes and tape. Presented is an example of Lou Gehrig's offering from the set, graded PR 1 by PSA due to wear and tears at the edges.  The image itself, however, is strong for the grade.  Aside from some general waviness due to the lightweight paper, the majority of the wear lies outside the image area, resulting in a clean attractive image.  Most interesting to us is the ragged, puffy first base underneath Gehrig, equipment like this clearly the reason we often call a base a "bag," even though they are no longer bags.
