Beautiful photograph of the 1912 Boston Red Sox as distributed on October 10, 1912 by the Sporting News as part of an issue that featured 100 different supplements distributed between 1909 and 1913. This offering has been well-preserved and is now protected in a PSA slab. Despite exhibiting
age-related wear - particularly at the edges, where there is creasing and some light chipping - this offering has tremendous eye appeal.
First baseman Jake Stahl is highlighted in the circle, while the rest of his teammates stand in a team photo in the background. The Red Sox went on to win the 1912 World Series 4-3-1 over the New York Giants.
While the piece does have some bent corners and staining on the back, this image is still extremely presentable and would make for
an excellent display featuring multiple Hall of Famers, including Tris Speaker and Harry Hooper, as well as
several other of the day's better-known names like Smoky Joe Wood, Bill Carrigan, and Duffy Lewis. An outstanding document, particularly
interesting to Red Sox collectors, or Fenway Park collectors, as 1912 was the stadium's inaugural year.
