There are three different Cy Young poses in the T206 set. This one depicts the legendary pitcher at the end of his motion, with his bare hand showing after releasing the baseball. It is the rarest of the three offerings of the Hall of Famer in the T206 set. This example retains its bright background colors, giving some pop to the image which counteracts Young's gray uniform. Rounded corners are consistent with the grade, and while the edges are mostly strong, there is a ding near the lower right corner. The back exhibits a minor spot of paper loss, but is otherwise very presentable for the grade. Centering is to the east of the canvas, but this is still an attractive, sought-after card of one of the best players to ever put on a uniform.

Denton True "Cy" Young pitched 14 consecutive seasons winning 20 or more games en route to an impossible 511 total career wins at the time of his retirement. He is baseball's all-time leader in eight major statistical pitching categories, but it wasn't just his longevity that got him those marks. In 1901, he won pitching's Triple Crown, leading the league in Wins (33), ERA (1.62), and Strikeouts (158). He threw 38 complete games that year, leading the league with 5 shutouts. When Young passed away in 1955, Commissioner Ford Frick came up with the idea to honor the best pitcher in Major League Baseball with the Cy Young Award starting in 1956.
