A truly gorgeous sky dominates the background of this close up shot of Clark Griffith batting in his beautifully bold, dark blue Cincinnati uniform. We get a good look at Griffith's grip as the bat is so prominent in the foreground that the detail of the wood grain is visible. Some light surface abrasions and a small bit of paper/color loss paired with some staining along the borders and rounded corners explain the card's technical grade, but there is so much stunning eye appeal on this one that the grade is secondary. The Piedmont back has some light smudging and a couple tobacco stains to add some character, but don't let the grade fool you. This card is a stunner for the grade.
