Lew Ritter played parts of 7 seasons for Brooklyn in the Major Leagues before spending 3 years with the Kansas City Blues of the American Association. While only his last name appears on the card, the PSA slab incorrectly spells his first name as Lou. An interesting pose depicts the sometimes catcher/sometimes outfielder ready to accept a pitch, but not wearing catching equipment. The pink sky is rare in the T206 set, and adds some brightness to a card otherwise dominated by Ritter's gray uniform and coat. The corners of this card are razor sharp, as are the edges, and if it weren't for some light tobacco staining around the border, this example would have surely graded even higher than it already has. The Piedmont back is centered south and west on the canvas and exhibits some light tobacco staining, further explaining the card's technical grade.
