There are two different Heinie Wagner cards included in the T206 set. One is more of a close up which depicts him in front of a light blue background holding a bat on his right shoulder. This version, which shows more of his torso and includes some green grass in the background in addition to the sky blue sky, depicts Wagner holding a bat on his left shoulder. Each version of the card is equally rare, but what makes this specific offering special is that, with it, you get two names for the price of one. Some collectors desire error cards, or misprints, or the like, and while this card did not receive a qualifier to go along with its grade from PSA, "WAGNER, BOSTON AMER" appears below the photo (as it should), and at the very top border of the card, clearly miscut from the card above on the original sheet.

Besides the double name, the centering is just slightly to the east on the canvas. While the corners are slightly rounded, they remain sharper than many from this set. A light crease toward the lower left corner and surface stains on both sides further explain the technical grade. PSA has only ever graded 13 total examples of this El Principe de Gales back version of the Wagner, with only seven receiving a higher grade (two with qualifiers) than the VG 3 offered here.

Wagner was a 4-time World Series champion with the Boston Red Sox, winning the title in 1912, 1915, 1916, and 1918. He ended his career with 3,333 at bats. Don't miss your chance to add a T206 Wagner to your collection.
