This example features a portrait of Ed Gremminger wearing his white uniform with no cap in front of a beautiful, bold red background. Gremminger's last name is misspelled on the card, and on the PSA label, both errors which went uncorrected. A terrific example which has stood the test of time, some extremely slight diamond cutting, softly rounded corners, and moderate chipping on the left and right edges explain the card's technical grade. Fantastic eye appeal on this card, which is almost perfectly centered. Some light tobacco stains adorn the back, adding character.

Gremminger's is one of the harder-to-find issues of the T206 set, as the Southern Leaguers are typically more scarce. PSA has only ever graded 118 total examples of this Old Mill back version of the Gremminger, with only 19 ever receiving a higher grade than the EX 5 offered here.

Lorenzo Edward "Ed" Gremminger had a cup of coffee in 1895, then came back to the Majors from 1902-1904 when he played more than 350 games for the Boston Nationals and Detroit Tigers. This card depicts the Third Baseman as a member of the Montgomery Senators/Climbers of the Southern Association, a team for which he played from 1908-1910 before finishing his career back home in Canton, Ohio. "Battleship" collected 336 hits in 391 games during his time in Montgomery.
