Though grading companies stubbornly continue to identify these cards as the nonexistent company "Scrapps Tobacco," we now know them to be distributed by H.D. Smith & Company of Cincinnati, among the earliest gum card issues in our hobby's history.
Collector-grade example exhibits some wear on the reverse, with soiling and staining consistent with scrapbook mounting. Staining passes through to the front, though not in a distracting way.
