Collection of seven merit awards, each measuring over 6" in length by approximately 2 1/2" in height.  Each thin paper piece was intended to be presented by a teacher to a young student, to certify that their "diligence and attention meets my approbation."  Each award contains a central illustration of children engaged in some activity, flanked by smaller images that includes a baseball scene.  The awards left space for the teacher to write in a student's name and additional information; six of the seven reverses include printed prayers, blessings or poems (the seventh is blank).  Each is well-worn but presents strongly, and have been filled out (the writing on one has faded from view) but is otherwise colorful and clean.  Seven pieces total.
