When writing about the various M101-4 and M101-5 issues produced by Felix Mendelsohn we cannot stress enough the value of Tim Newcomb and Todd Schultz' article "Making Sense of M101-5 & M101-4" in the Summer 2008 issue of Old Cardboard. The article does indeed make sense of the set's many intricacies back varieties and checklists. The Everybody's cards advertised a clothing store however no information is available regarding the location of the store. One of the most rare of all the related Mendelsohn issues the cards are extremely difficult to find today and are highly prized by type collectors. This example, featuring Bobbie Byrne of the Phillies, has been graded VG 3 by SGC. Despite having the highest graded population in the issue with five known examples, it is still an incredibly rare card.
Please note: we were contacted by Mr. Schultz, who advised us of his discovery that the Everybody's store was located in El Paso, TX. We invite everyone to read a fascinating 2017 update published on the Old Cardboard website at https://www.oldcardboard.com/m/m101-4/schultz-2017-article/scarcity4b.pdf
