Collector-grade Old Judge featuring the "Boston Strong Boy " John L. Sullivan. In 1889 Sullivan knocked out Jake Kilrain to win the heavyweight championship in round 75 of an 80-round bare knuckle fight and was one of the first sporting events in the country to receive national press. The fight was the last championship bare-knuckle fight. The Massachussets native was part of the International Boxing Hall of Fame's inaugural class. Graded PR 1 for extensive damage to the card front in the form of what appears to be scrapbook removal, the image quality itself is strong, with above-average contrast.
