A Hall of Fame infielder, Roger Connor held the career mark for home runs until Babe Ruth surpassed it in 1921 with his 139th home run.  Nicknamed "The Mighty Clouter," Connor was a perennial league leader in many offensive categories, with recent research uncovering the fact that Connor was actually a switch hitter when he had long been considered just a left-handed batter.  This N172 pose, catalogued as #88-1, graces a card verified Authentic by SGC due to the bottom edge being trimmed away.  The reverse exhibits staining which is likely due to long-ago scrapbook mounting, with pinholes at the top and bottom as well.  Image contrast is excellent, an attractive, collector grade example of an 1886-87 "Script" example of a Hall of Famer.
