Harry "The Horse" Danning was a tough-as-nails catcher for the New York Giants over a ten year career that spanned 1933 to 1942 who wielded a potent bat once he got the chance to start.  His 1939 Play Ball card shows a stern-looking image, with a sweet blue ink signature laid down across his chest.  PSA/DNA Authentic in grade, the overall package looks quite nice. Some paper loss is visible on the reverse, the product of long-ago scrapbook removal by the family of the original collector.  The card originates from the Shibe Park collection of autographed cards, an original owner collection carefully collected by a teenage boy who, in 1939 and 1940, obtained many autographs from players arriving at the train station near Shibe Park, and continued for many years to obtain signatures in person and through the mail.
