Frank Demaree spent a dozen years in the big leagues and appeared in four World Series, never tasting victory. He's with the Giants for Play Ball in 1939 and has signed his card in an unusual red ink and quite nicely at that, in a neat hand across his chest. The autograph is well impressed and assessed as PSA/DNA Authentic.  Demaree had a tragic baseball after-life and passed away very young in 1958 and is an extremely difficult signature as a result. The card originates from the Shibe Park collection of autographed cards, an original owner collection carefully collected by a teenage boy who, in 1939 and 1940, obtained many autographs from players arriving at the train station near Shibe Park, and continued for many years to obtain signatures in person and through the mail. An absolutely rare and beautiful card.
