Buddy Myer was an infielder who spent his entire career with the Senators and was part of their 1925 and 1933 AL pennant winners. He could hit, with 2,131 career knocks tallied and also got on base, as his.389 lifetime On Base Percentage shows. This 1939 Play Ball has some scrapbook remnants on the reverse. The front looks bright and Myer as signed in black ink, his distinct autograph earning a grade of PSA/DNA MINT 9.  Myer is a tough signature; his 1974 passing has left us with precious few autographed examples of his cards.  The card originates from the Shibe Park collection of autographed cards, an original owner collection carefully collected by a teenage boy who, in 1939 and 1940, obtained many autographs from players arriving at the train station near Shibe Park, and continued for many years to obtain signatures in person and through the mail.
