Offered here is a season pass to the Phillips Andover Academy’s baseball games for the 1896 season. Located in Andover, Massachusetts, the Academy was founded in 1778 and remains a college preparatory school for grades 9 through 12, making it one of the oldest incorporated secondary schools in the country. This season pass reads “PHILLIPS ANDOVER ACADEMY BASE BALL ASSOCIATION SEASON — 1896 — TICKET” in elaborate type font on the front, followed by a mini scorecard of sorts on the back where the ticket holder could fill in the scores of games throughout the season. The center portion on the reverse has been washed out in parts through the years. The season ticket measures approx. 2.75" wide by 5" inches high.
