Underrated Iowa native Hal Trosky finished his career with 228 lifetime home runs and a lifetime batting average of .302.  In 1936 he had one of the best offensive seasons in Cleveland Indians history, batting .343 with 42 home runs and 162 runs batted in.  Trosky's 162 runs batted in is still 19th best all-time - beginning the list with Hack Wilson's 191 in 1930 and working your way down, Manny Ramirez is the only non-Hall of Famer ahead of Trosky on the list (Sammy Sosa and Vern Stephens are just behind).  The card originates from the Shibe Park collection of autographed cards, an original owner collection carefully collected by a teenage boy who, in 1939 and 1940, obtained many autographs from players arriving at the train station near Shibe Park, and continued for many years to obtain signatures in person and through the mail.  Trosky died in 1979, his signature difficult to find on cards as a result.
