Though best known for his time with the White Sox and involvement in the 1919 "Black Sox" scandal, knuckleballer Eddie Cicotte began his career with the Boston Red Sox of the late aughts. Offered is an original 6.25" x 9" Type 1 photograph picturing Cicotte in Sox regalia only featured during his rookie season of 1908, with a red stocking across the chest and the word "Boston" in white. Areas where editorial masking has been applied appear around the pitcher's shoulders, face, and cap, where "Cicotte" has also been added. Handwritten pencil notations are scattered about verso with a small modern paper label also affixed at the top. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
