Attractive rookie card of the "Chairman of the Board " which also doubles as the #1 card in the popular 1951 Bowman baseball set. As hobby lore would have us believe the first and last cards of every set are more difficult to find in higher grades simply due to the card being at the top and bottom of the pile making them more susceptible to wear and damage from rubber bands etc. In many cases population data would support this. In every case the status of the card as #1 in the set inflates its price. This particular card has been graded VG 3 by PSA. Despite the grade being accurate it is not one particular flaw that is responsible for the grade. Instead overall wear to the card has brought it to its current level. As such the color is still bold and crisp some surface abrasions prevalent throughout the entire card that do not break the color or surface. Corners and edges are worn consistent with the grade.
