The 1903 Major League Baseball season saw the Pittsburgh Pirates (91-49-1) win their second straight National League pennant before bowing to the Boston Americans in the very first World Series, five games to three. Presented here is a photo of the team from that season that appeared as a photographic supplement inside a 1903 issue of the Pittsburgh Gazette. The photo shows 18 members of the team in suits including the legendary Hall of Famer and eight-time N.L. batting champ Honus Wagner (second row, third from right). The photo shows toning and staining around the edges and a severe crease right down the middle. Measuring 17" x 11", framed to a finished size of 27" x 21".
