Beautiful example of the "throwing" pose of Hall of Fame outfielder Sam Crawford as graded by an early version of SGC. The card is extraordinarily clean and well-centered with sharp corners and edges an outstanding example of a highly desirable card. It is our opinion that the card has been subjected to a very slight trim at the top and bottom and SGC's current grading team agrees with that assessment. It should be noted that cards with the "SG" grading label were graded by a very early version of SGC established with a completely different grading staff and ownership team than the current incarnation of that company. The outstanding guarantee offered by SGC does not extend to cards graded under the original ownership as they were graded before today's much more sophisticated grading techniques by a group that did not possess the knowledge or skill of the current group. While we are very confident in the management and grading team at SGC many of whom have been in place for more than a decade it is important to point out that this card was not graded by that staff. In fact it can be argued that the original SGC was actually an entirely different company from the one currently in place. The card itself is extraordinarily attractive with strong color and clarity large borders and a clean reverse. The aforementioned trimming is very slight but definitely exists.
