Dated 1889, attractive cabinet photo from the Uhlman photo studio of St. Joseph, MO, featuring catcher Anthony Hellman, pictured with the Sioux City Cornhuskers of the Western Association.  Hellman's career was brief; 1889 was the last of five seasons played in various leagues.  He managed one game with the 1886 Baltimore Orioles, going 0-for-3.  The photo corresponds with card #221-1 in the N172 Old Judge Cigarettes issue.  Excellent clarity and detail, with soiling and foxing visible on the front.  The reverse bears the telltale signs of scrapbook removal, in the form of adhesive staining and some paper remnants.  Hellman's last name is written in ink, and the reverse also includes an owner's stamp.  Regardless of technical condition issues, the piece presents extremely well.
