Then 24-year-old editor of Baseball Magazine, Rick Cerrone received this signed handwritten letter through correspondence with Sandy Koufax in 1978. Koufax has penned his dated response to Cerrone in black ink on his personal letterhead that measures 7.25" x 10.5". Baseball Magazine was published by hobby pioneer, Mike Aronstein of TCMA and ran from 1977-81 until the baseball strike of that season ultimately doomed their publication. Cerrone, who has spent a lifetime working in baseball, would go on to become the Assistant Director of PR for Major League Baseball (1982-96), the Vice President of PR Relations for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1987-1993), and the Senior Director of Media Relations for the New York Yankees during their most recent dynasty (1996-2006). In recent years he has come full circle and as of 2018 is currently the Editor in Chief of Baseball Digest. Basic cert from JSA.
