Exceptional 1951 Yankee Stadium official ten cent scorecard highlighting the 50th anniversary of the American League. The interior scorecard page features the Cleveland Indians lineup which would support the date of May 14 which is handwritten on the scorecard (though the game has not been scored). On that day the Yankees demolished the Cleveland Indians 11-4 behind the complete game pitching of Eddie Lopat. The 1951 season featured both Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio in the starting lineup with Mantle batting second and playing right field and DiMaggio hitting cleanup and playing his customary center. In the game Mantle rapped a double in five at bats scoring two. DiMaggio went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Not a bad 1-2 punch. The piece is in VG condition with a fold down the center. Though the game has not been scored the date of the game has been written in pencil on the scorecard and subsequently traced over in ink. Legendary Yankees broadcaster and National Radio Hall of Fame inductee Mel Allen has signed the scorecard page in pencil boldly alongside the Yankee lineup and scoresheet. Yankees memorabilia from 1951 is in high demand due to the presence of both Mantle and DiMaggio on the roster. A lovely scorecard a document of the Yankees' championship 1951 season signed by a legendary broadcaster. *Please note that this item is guaranteed by Love of the Game to pass authentication from one of the hobby's three major autograph authenticators: James Spence Authentication PSA/DNA or SGC Authentic.
